Default Fishing near calgary

I will be in calgary this weekend and I am looking for suggestions. If you only had 1 day to fish which lake within 1 hour of calgary would you fish. The lake must be power boat friendly.

Thanks

There are several spots within a couple hours of Calgary, I'm not an expert on the distances as I've never gone but , PCR, Travers and a few others are within ~2 hours of Calgary.

Yes, but he said 1 hr. There just isn't any.

PCR is 1.5 hrs, Ghost has no fish, Crawling is 1.5 hrs, Gregor 1.5 hrs, travers 1.75 hrs, Pine 1.5 hrs.

You could try chesterslough that is 10 mins but $40 boat launch but just small pike and a million boaters, ghost lake 45 mins but fishing is super tough.

Fish the bow, it's right in town.

Ok I did say 1hr. Since I don't live in Calgary I didn't and don't include any city driving. That being said, the spirit of my post was where would a local be fishing on a saturday this weekend. I am willing to travel. Some ideas I am tossing around are spray, minnewanka and maybe newell.

Ya spray will take you 1.5 hrs, the road in is rough and dusty. Water level is LOW.

Minnewanka is a good bet, fishing well i hear. Extra cash for the national park license if you don't have it, no lead baits either.

I'll be in newell today until sat. Water temp is rising and fishing "SHOULD" be good. If you want to know a report, PM me Friday.

PCR is only an hour and 10 min definitely my first choice.

If you live in south, not from my house. Fishing there isn't really a challenge.
