Default wyoming antelope trip

My brother and I took a quick trip to wyoming last week for an antelope hunt. We have been trying to draw tags in an area with real good antelope, but did not get drawn this year, so we picked up some leftover tags near buffalo wyoming. We had a great hunt and were able to get a couple of decent bucks. I have never seen so many deer, antelope, and turkeys as I did there! Cool place to hunt. Some of the motels had meat poles with animals hanging out side, and taxidermists caping out animals in the parking lot! Definitely my kind of place.

Congrats. Public or private land? How easy was it to get permission to hunt?

Those are nice goats - I really like the mass and character on the second. Congrats!

Unlike Alberta where it's illegal, landowners there can (and do!) charge for access. A GPS loaded with landowner maps is basically a must - many property lines are unmarked and landowners will sometimes try to chase you off even public land. It's good to be able to point to the GPS map and show where you are exactly. They take their private property very very seriously down there!

6 of us went 2 years ago unguided on public land. They have a priorty system similar to ours so if you want to go unguided you should gain a couple years priority before you go. We all got a buck and a doe but access to public land is really poor in most easy to draw areas. You definately need the maps on GPS as mentioned previously. We took a fifth wheel rv and another pickup with a generator and freezer for the meat and capes. We are gaining priority and are going back in a few years.

WY has loads of BLM Land that you can get on. GF's Dad n Brother are WY residents and always hunt around Cody and Dubois. Buffalo is a pretty cool place. I Love the country between Buffalo, Sheridan West to Cody!

Nice Looking Critters!
