Default He just wants to be 12!!

I know he enjoys it more than i do. Out for a walk Friday afternoon. Nothing better than getting out with him. We had spent quite a few days hiking and i think he was getting discouraged, but after this he says "Dad, I think that all our hard work paid off". The emotions ran through him when we walked up to her. I was glad to see as the respect he showed for the animal was something i will never forget.

PS. Anyone with a antlered mule deer tag in WMU 158 PM me if you would like some directions to this area. I had to look twice as i thought i was looking at an elk from a distance!

Thumbs up

And a sled can be used for more than high speed down hill runs...time well spent together...oh yeah had my young lad out a few years ago for his first mule deer buck hunt, we were back on some hilly land, he shot a dandy, I will never forget when the sled was loaded he drugged up the first hill, lost control of the sled on the way down the other side, fought it to keep,it from tipping etc well the next steep climb on the way back down the other side he hopped on and road the sled and deer to the bottom...kids will be kids...he was 21

Default It’s great that he gets it.

It is an important lesson for youth to learn that hard work pays off. That is a genuine smile of accomplishment and he will know what it takes when he starts hunting himself. Lots of target practice to build confidence helps too.

This is what it's all about, right here.

I still love going hunting with my kids(19 & 22).

Congrats on the harvest.

Double congrats on the awesome job of parenting.

He ain't the only one. What I'd give to erase 45 years and have a do over.

Looks like he's getting the proper training. He'll do just fine when the time comes!
