I'm not sure when you last went Bush, but I was there lately and went twice. First trip we fished hard all day and only got 15 between two people. Second trip later on we fished hard again all day, past dark and only got 23. Out of all the people we talked to, we did the best. Btw Burbot hunter if you do ever go, there is a crazy amount of tiny hammerhandles... caught more of them than anything.

You should have been there last Monday you must have just teased them enough to make them bite for us.

They have changed the access of the lake because people have been trespassing on a farmers property. I heard 7 people got charged with trespassing
by the rcmp. Some of these people left a mess of garbage and empty beer cans on this guys property.

There's always got to be one retard to wreck it for everyone else. As far as the word getting out... Its not that big of deal the lake is so far from e-town it won't see the traffic cross lake gets!

I think that was for last summer! we have not had any problems with access! the perch are hit and miss tho! We had one guy in our group pull 10 out last time out in a 5 gallon pail they weighed over 23 pounds!

Trespassing on what farmers property. Looked like crown land bush for many miles as far as I could see.

No secret anymore better go get the last couple perch in there. Personally been fishing there for 15 yrs this years been terrible for greedy anglers first they wipeout Bethan than Clyde now waiu can't wait for tags for perch stoP most poachers. I feel sorry for the next generation of anglers . Anyways good luck

Was there a couple of times last winter and did well. This year it has 5 times the people. The lake can't handle the pressure like many of other Alberta lakes.

Just leaving Wiau.. 5 hours of fishing, 30 holes from 5 feet to 5 inches of water, 0 perch. 7 or 8 little green snakes that's all...

Was there last weekend. Perch were very, very slow. 2 caught between 4 of us. 50 or more trucks on the ice. No one else catching any perch either. Saw one guy with 5. Caught lots of 10" pike. We went on at the river entrance. it was fairly good but dirt starting to show on the trail when we left. Could be mud and muskeg by this weekend, depends on the weather up there this week. Might be the last weekend to make it in. Don't know what was with the perch not biting, maybe spawning??? or getting ready to???

It might have to do with fishing pressure. During the week that lake has a minimum of 10 plus vehicles at any given time.

I would agree that it is all the fishing pressure. Lake is in tough shape after just a couple years. Last year at this time it was incredible so that is why I go with pressure. A couple people we know have been fishing there before anybody even heard of it and said it is now wrecked. Nothing like what it was.

Yeah that could be.. But it's a fair-sized lake, not easy to fish out in just 2 years...the other thing I noticed I ve never caught a small perch there! Could it be that with lack of food compared to amount of big perch all fish fry gets consumed and population peaked out...
