Smile Searching for clear ice

Would any of you ice fishers know of lakes from Red Deer and south that are generally clear of snow. I'm an ice sailor and we are snowed in around Edmonton. Weeks ago the south of province had marginal ice; now there is good ice but snow is around too so I'd appreciate more 'eyes' reporting on clear ice. You are welcome to join me too and get a Formula One sailing experience. Ice sailors are awesome--they even walk on water. Lowell

Finally a sport that Sullivan lake is suitable for!
(Probably too much snow right now though.)

Ghost reservoir west of Calgary has lots of wind and could be sind swept of snow..not sure though. You may have to take off the ice runners and put snow skis on the boat instead.

Abraham lake was pretty clear. I’m not sure of the ice thickness. People were ice fishing closer to shore, there was an area on the west side with open water.

Abrahams would be good wind wise but too much water fluctuation under the ice. Minnewanka you would have to dodge tourist skaters.

X2 on Lac De Arc by Exshaw.
