Default Carpets for the House

So the wife and myself have decided it is time to replace our carpets in the house. We went carpet shopping today to a couple places. I was wondering if anyone has used or heard of good carpet places in Calgary? I am looking to get a couple more quotes to compare with the ones we got today. So any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Make sure to take pictures of the drapes and take them in with you.

its amazing how much they will drop their price when the pressure is on. I had narrowed it down to 2 quotes, Outfit A and Outfit B. Both had rugs I liked and were very comparable. When I apologized to Outfit A because I was going to go with Outfit B, Outfit A dropped their price big time and it was no contest. Outfit B could not match. Do not be afraid to haggle hard, I think there's a huge markup in carpet prices. I mean HUGE.

I think I agree with Hunter 65 about the amount of mark up on carpet. When we went looking for carpet in Calgary it ended up we could do hardwood in the living room and bedrooms and marble in the entrances, kitchen and bathrooms for less money than carpet and lino. We bought both on sale at Rona, Acatia hardwood $3 a square foot and the marble was $2.80. It cost us $3.00 a square to have it installed. That worked out to WAY less than carpet.

If you aren't stuck on carpet it is one other choice to consider.
