Default Fishing around Wetaskiwin

Hey guys, my cousin is coming down to visit this week and wants to go fishing. Haven't been out this year so don't know whats good and what isn't. Any suggestions for places I can take him? Just want to get into fish not to worried about size. Fishing from shore.

Any help appreciated!

Not sure how Dried Meat Lake is.....Coal is getting pretty weeded up. Could always go hit the NSR and catch a bunch of different types of fish.

I went out to coal lake yesterday. Just parked on the north side and walked a little ways to find a half decent spot. Sure there are weeds but they aren't super bad. We caught one fish, about 2 pounds before the weather changed and got hit with a storm. I'm planning on going out again for the day tomorrow.

Hey if you're still wondering. I was out at Dried Meat Lake this afternoon and the fishing from shore was great! Just down by the east side.

Was at Coal on Saturday....Fished for 4 hours, caught two jack about 16 inches long. So much algae that you can't see a thing. Lots of fish jumping though.

A good spot at coal lake is by the bridge where you turn off on the gravel just before the camp ground by gwyenne. i usually catch 3 or 4 a night. By-the-lake-park also has rainbows. Most are small but I did catch a 17 inch on a spinner but also a few on a fly rod.
