Default Doug Ford — what do you think?

I thought the guy was an arse hole before the pandemic . Now I seem to like him. Read today him trying to rip The Donald a new one about aluminum tariffs . I know it will just backfire as he will be on Trump’s hit list now but I for one like the people that punch bullies in the head then just walk away.
And to me his news conferences show what I believe as true emotion .

Love him hate him. What u think?

I honestly don’t know enough about the man to truly say I like or dislike him, but I will say he seems to be getting a lot more credit and appreciation for the job he is doing from many people who would have not given it to him initially. I think that is a sign he isn’t the train wreck people thought he was going to be and I think seems a lot better than many of the politicians we have been seeing of late.

None of them are ideal to be sure, but I would take him over Kenny, and definitely over any of the previous Alberta premiers previous for quite a few years.

I live in Ontario (yeah, I know, I know - but it is what it is) and when Dougie was first elected I feared the worst, having lived just north of Toronto when his brother was the ringleader/Mayor for that circus.

But I've developed a real admiration for the guy - grudging at first, figuring he'd eventually step on his crank while wearing his golf shoes - but darned if he hasn't really come through in the clinch. He's dealt with the Covid thing very well. He's tried to reverse several of the foul-ups that McGuinty, Wynne and their liberal crowd, under the tutelage of G. Butts (Trudeau's bum buddy) put in place - high hydro rates, etc.

Darned if I wouldn't vote for him, in fact work on any campaign he'd be running in a future election. The Dippers here make Singh look like a Mensa candidate, and the Ontario Liberals got beat so badly in the last provincial election they went from a majority to losing official party status. Let's just hope that the same happens to Trudeau in the next federal race.

Main stream media painted him as an evil conservative - like they did with Harper and more recently with Kenney. Fortunately, the electorate risked being labeled as racist neanderthals and voted them in - and the general public have discovered that the dire predictions of the liberal left were untrue !!!!! I hope this trend continues.

I was living in Ontario for the last provincial election. I vehemently opposed Ford and voted for another party. I’m more than willing to admit that I misjudged him and that he has proven himself more than capable. We need more politicians like him I believe...

Seems to be doing a good job. Pretty much calls it like he sees it.

Good for him taking on the Mango Mussolini moron. If a few of the kissarse high ranking republicans down there would do the same they wouldn't be going through the BS they're in now. And gawd knows theres nobody else in Canada with enough cajones to.

In my minds eye I still see him supporting his brother. Can't get past the crack video.
He reminds me of Trump. In the States im in shock that its between Trump and Biden and Biden is worse than Trump.
I'm looking for three things.
1 successful business
2 successful family
3 served in combat
A forth and fifth would be to just be able to like or respect a candidate. Can you imagine being able to trust one?

I was also very much opposed to him, simply, and unfairly, based on the antics of his idiot brother but he has, by all counts, proven to be a good, strong and fair leader.

He seems to stand up when it's required - like when Trump stole the mask deliveries from 3M going to Ontario and now this Tariff BS.

He has also handled the Covid thing well and seems to be doing what he needs to do.

I like him.

I remember reading that Doug Ford's mother in law got covid in April. I think that's when Doug straightened up and took notice of reality.

I like what I have seen from Doug this year.
Now someone has to convince him to take a run at the Prime Ministers job.

I like his push to have manufacturing brought back to Ontario instead of being just a resource supply. I feel we should still support North American manufacturing but put a 20% tariff on all Asian goods. Trump is not evil, he is just a business man taking care of his business.

Nobody has ever accused Doug Ford of being the Liar in Chief.

I like Ford, he is perhaps the best Covid Premier in Canada. The kid in Ottawa should use him as a mentor.

I thought he was moderately OK when he first got elected, of course that was hoping Ontarian’s got anything but more Liberal economic wrecking-balls elected, never mind even-worse NDP. He’s done surprisingly well, good on him. Of course the teachers and other gov’t union workers don’t like him, but those types should be weaned from the teat every now and then.

He certainly is speaking my language in denouncing tariffs. Made in Canada is a phrase we should all get behind.

The guys been awesome through this whole pandemic thing and has made great leaps to unravel some of the damage left by the Ontario Liberals. The guy is good for Canada and he’s great for Ontario. I wish he was leader of the federal Conservatives.

Be interesting to see if the Cons regard him as a help or a hindrance come next election, and if he chooses to to help them by way of calling out the things the Libs have actually done to Ontario as well as the rest of Canada. Maybe he can educate a few people there.

Pretty sure Ford has a heart and a brain too so that'd be a huge difference between the 2. Ford has better hair and skin tone too. Mind you one of those bare arsed monkeys has better hair and skin tone than Mr Mango.

To many people's surprise, Doug Ford ended up being; "The Right Man For The Job, At The Right Time".

Ontario (& Canada) is Very Lucky he's at the helm there, and doing a Great Job. There are other people in Canada doing a great job as well during these hard times, but Doug Ford stands out as; 'One Of The Best'.

As countries, both Canada and the DSA (Divided States of America) could use a 'Doug Ford' at the helm right now ... but sadly, there seems little hope of that happening, anytime soon.

My two centavos,

Selkirk
