Default WMU 440 trip

Well with a crew of 6 we hunted 440 for 4 days. Only thing harvested were some spruce chickens.

Saw a few mule does, 1 grizzly, 1 black bear and 2WT deer running 100mph away from us. Nice country, but like previous posts sad to see numbers so low in such great country.

Best of luck to anyone else who gives her a go! For me Ill be stickin to farm country!

I bet you wish that you would have pulled a P10 moose tag for your hunt.

Sad state when Coronation has better moose hunting that the foothills.

Not really, way easier for a moose to make a living at lower elevations, especially with the protection of living on private property. It's the moose habitat of the future.

440 is part of the caribou corridor I’m pretty sure they shot a bunch of ungulates from helicopters and set poison baits out for wolves there. I knew a pretty sweet moose spot that I use to have a hay day shed hunting in and I now struggle just to find a couple of antlers here and there.

I can promise you they did in fact do this and have been for some time but it all falls upon deaf ears... considering what I have seen last couple years on the trapline out there they have hit this zone a lot harder recently. Sad they can get away with what they have done. Sickening

442 is no better, better off just staying out of there, unless your just riding to look at country.

Default 440

Don't get me wrong. I spent 6 days sheep hunting in 440 as well and yes there is game. Its just hard to imagine a zone like that with so little. Considering access is pretty limited to a few main roads and the Willmore.
