Default Bringing meat back into Canada

I was wondering, how does one bring meat/head/hide back into canada? I am heading down to Wyoming to hunt antelope and have not been able to get a straight answer on this issue from Canada Customs. Can I get the meat processed down there and then bring it back?

Call CBSA at 403-344-3766

That's your best bet. Ask to speak to an officer and get the info and a badge number. Simple.

You need to stop at U.S. customs on your way out to get an export permit. From my experience, that's all that's required but as Rack said, a call to CSBA might not hurt.

My experience matches Sheephunter's. Stop on the US side, step inside, get the paperwork, show it on the Canadian side, and away you go. I only did this at the Wild Horse crossing (twice) but it went very smoothly. They looked at the trophy, and never even opened the coolers which held meat and skin for a full-body mount.

We just got back from wyoming, We only got 1 goat, pretty sad hunt to say the least but there were no issues at all bringing meat back across the line, We never filled out no permits ect. Make sure brain cartlage is out of skull though.
