In search of the wiley Wapiti.
I managed to get out for a 3 days in search of the wiley wapiti and had some success. After several days of humping up and down Alberta's beautiful foothills I finally found a legal bull. The good news was that at daybreak he was with 25 cows and assorted spikers at the top of of a steep gorge. The bad news is that I was at the bottom of the same gorge! After a nasty and very physical climb, jog, and crawl I managed to position myself parallel to the herd for a 281yd shot across the gully. My 3honey with 180gr STPs made short work of the bull and he folded like a cheap tent. The rest of the day was spent gutting, dragging and all the other usual fun stuff that goes with taking down big game. He's a big wide 6x6 (not putting a tape on him) and I anticipate some fine steak BBQs in my future! PS: Sorry about the marginal field photos, I had a tough time working my self timer on my camera on the steep downslope!

No need to tape em , he's good enough for sure . Congrats on a nice one and good pics . I bought a cheap little $5 tripod at Princess auto to use on my camera for timer use , fits in the palm of your hand .
