Default Question for all you camp wainwright guys

What's the run down? I drew an either sex elk in there. I know minimum blaze orange is a vest, non hunters allowed while accompanying the hunter. What point of entries? How many briefings and what times? How's the elk hunting? Anything else I need to know. Thanks!

get to the meeting early and grab a lot of numbers of people. the elk like to move around, if you're in muzzle loader season i'll help if i see them.

otherwise i can tell you we saw them last year on the south fenceline

First brief will be at 0645 the first morning and normally 0700 afterwards. Check station opens at 0600. Daily briefs but the first one is the longest one.
Only one entrance (follow camp wainwright signs from Hwy 14) into the main gate and then follow the hunter check station signs.
Except delays at the gate this year so come early, have your hunting licence and ID ready and have non-hunters ID ready at the gate. That will speed things up when you get there.

You tell us how the elk hunting is......

Haha thanks shed, well I'll have to see! Anywhere I've hunted elk they're either there or not and that's hunting, I expect that to be how it is anywhere and I'm not too picky about elk, I just like eating them. If I get a cranker it's a bonus I guess.

We might be on "the outside" chasing cow elk then. Will let you know what we see going in and out.

Chat with everyone you can when you're there. Generally, Wainright hunters are very helpful in sharing elk & moose sightings with those that have tags.
