Hello, I'm new to bird hunting. I live in Calgary & am looking for someone to show me the ropes anywhere in Southern Alberta (I'm willing to drive). I have a somewhat erratic work schedule, so will be motivated when I do get a day off.
I have a young retriever, also in his first season, who was professionally trained but I don't know yet how he'll turn out (get him back in September). PM me if you're looking for a partner.

Hey everyone,

My name is jeff, I'm seventeen and eager to hunt. I got a bow last christmas, and have practiced like mad. I do not have my hunting license yet, but i'm working on it. I am mostly interested in Deer, whitetails specifically. I don't need a trophy, i love the taste. I would love to get out with someone, even if i'm not hunting, i would love to just experieince being there, and I want to learn as much as possible about the hunt and every aspect surrounding it. I'm in Red Deer, but i don't mind a short drive.

Feel free to PM me.

Jeff--

Default Looking For an Elk Partner

Hey,

I am new to hunting, got through all the courses and approvals I need. I have been in the backcountry many times so I have a lot of outdoors experience.

What I am looking for is someone I can go Elk hunting with. I have been on one hunt before, a moose hunt in the Yukon where I was just along for the adventure.

Specifically, I am looking for someone willing to take me along into the foothills, WMU 428-434 (some of those are draws but I dont have my regs. with me to know which are the open areas).

Let me know if we can work something out.

So I figure I'm fast approaching a record of time spent in the bush looking for a bear with no harvest. And I'm getting a little ticked frankly!! Can anyone help a guy out? Anywhere within a few hours of Calgary please... Thanks!!

Moved to Alberta from BC last Sept and have noone to archery hunt with this fall. I'm planning on going out and exploring territory on my own regardless but would obviously much rather a little company and some direction of where I could get into some elk. I'm 28 and have hunted for the past 16 years. I am extremely passionate/obsessed about calling/hunting elk and would love the opportunity to go out with anyone to help out. For the opportunity to find and be into the elk I'd love to even simply call for someone and help pack meat out if needed. Message me if you need a caller/meat packer.

I'm not a great elk hunter, or a great bow hunter but I'm tentatively planning a canoe hunt down the little smokey from west of high prary to watino. I want to do it week days rather than on the weekend which is an inconvinience to most and I'd like to do it from the 14th to the 18th of september and get that first day of rifle hunting if the bow thing doesnt pan out.

Well lets see.. I like long moon lit walks on a beach...

Oh wait different website.

Serriously. Have what looks to be a great gun dog for both pheasants and ducks this year. (Sorry No geese till next year).
I have the decoys, I have the Blinds, I have the boat (No blind built yet)
And I am allways looking for the right guy to head out with. Fairly flexable with dates and times, Weekdays can work, Weekends are ok. Nights might be ok.

It would be great to get into some consistant hunting close to town.

If your interested PM me and lets see what we can do.

Jamie

I guess I should also mention I am in the south end of Calgary.
Something else I should mention. Just becouse I have all the toys, doesnt mean I have all the skills. I am still very new at this game, but I am learning quick. I have some access, but not a bunch. With my schedual, I find it tough to do any pre scouting as well. But I am sure we can work something out

Thanks
Jamie

Im new to hunting and would like to go out with someone who knows what there doing. My plan is to go out on the weekend after the 17 of sept in wmu 412 and 414. I know the areas very well as i grew up out there quading. I figure i may as well go somewhere i know and i know theres deer. My plan is to go for mule that weekend and keep my white tail for a little later. after that if able to I was thinking about getting an elk tag for the same area. You do not need to be drawn for mule or elk in those wmu as you probibly already know. I shoot a .308 savage and am fully equiped with everything i need to hunt. I just need a partner to come with me.

My buddy who I go elk hunting with in 402 can't make it for opening weekend. I plan on going up there on Thrusday night(17th) and staying until Sunday(20th). It's open for general elk, 3pt, or better.

Anyone interested, PM me. You would need a quad to get back in.....

I finally got my Sept work sked. Thinking of driving up to 350 on the 16th and camp. Try to spend most of 17th and possibly part of the 18th wandering around the bush. Have not had a chance to scout around so I don't know what is there. PM if you might like to join me.

I'll throw this out there for my father . . . though it might not be possible to convince him to hunt with anyone anymore We'd rather not see him on the evening news.

So, dear old dad is from Logan Lake, BC, and is a retired career military man. He hunts in the Peace River Block just off the Alaska Highway for deer and moose. He is very particular about what he shoots, and he will typically not shoot the first thing he sees. He's only ever taken one trophy, and he's always good about sharing the kills. I don't know what he drew this year. His big trip is usually the end of September. Has a Ford F350 Supercab, but no quad.

The folks in his town line up to go hunting with him, as they know 9 times out of 10 they'll fill their freezer. After they've hunted with him one year, they poach his spot the following year and go with someone else. He had one guy ditch him a week in, as nothing had been shot yet. He can be a bit gruff at times, and still has a pretty heavy Scottish accent (can be hard to understand at times).

If you're interested, PM me and I'll get you in touch with him (after I chat with him about it).

That's too bad, Shelley. Sounds like a nice guy and, if I was better equipped and a little more experienced, I'd go with him. Sounds like I could learn a thing or two ... or 10.

Anyone need some extra hands this season???

I am a BC resident living in Calgary, I have been here for a little bit but am going to be converting this winter.

Basically I am looking to get out and meet some new people and see some area.As well as learn about the Albetra hunting system.

I will not be hunting but am willing to go on ride alongs, push bush or whatever
I know that many of you wish you had an extra set of hands when it comes to packing out an animal, or an extra set of eyes when you are out alone.

Here is your opportunity.

Thanks,

Brian

I guess it can't hurt to add my name to the list. I'm in the Fort Saskatchewan/Sherwood Park area, but would be ok to travel up to 4 hrs in either direction.

This is my first year hunting, and could really use a hand learning the ropes. I have a truck, camper, quad, guns, licenses etc., but not much in the way of experience.

If anyone feels like helping out a new guy, send me a PM. I'm easy to get along with, and not afraid of work.
