If you could go fishing ANYWHERE in the world for ANY species of fish what would you choose??

There is alot to choose from and I'm sure many minds could be swayed after hearing what everyone else's thoughts are.

I'm going to have to say to Florida for Tarpon. Preferably on the fly.

A close second at the time is to the Fraiser for big geon's.

Before I leave this world, I chase the biggest brookies in the world on the Minipi River in Labrador. They average 5-8lbs! We almost made it once as a stupid teenage roadtrip, but just couldn't round up enough cash. Simply an unbelievable fishery. They dry fly 'em with freakin' mouse patterns cast into the grass on the opposite shore and drop them in to get slammed! Good times

Now my second choice is a lake in Argentina named Jurasic. Biggest rainbows on earth. Only just learned about the place, and will fish it one day when I can finally do a red stag bowhunt! Dare to dream.......

In Canada I'd settle for some muskie fishing in lake of the woods/kenora.... This i think might come true this year.Well hopefully next fall.

I grew up on southern ontario. Moved away when I was 20. There is some good bass fishing there, but to be honest the more north of lake ont you go the better. southern ont is so over fished it makes me sick to think about it.

those 4-6" bows in dickson trout pond . or maybe a good fly in lake in northern alberta , sask. or manitoba for some lakers, pickeral or northerns.

after sight casting to marlin and yellowfin in the pacific a few times in the past, it's some of the craziest fishing you will ever do; can't wait to try for some sailfish and maybe a cow tuna as they call the big ones down in mexico. wish i was going tomorrow instead of december

Any hardcore fisherman in Canada is gona hit LOTW or Great Bear at least once in a lifetime. You guy's are real original. If you went to the fishing cap of the world I can damn near guarentee they've never even heard of those lakes.

Mako's in keys is a good one same with bonefish on fly.

Amazon could be fun, if I went to south america I'd be tartgeting peacock Bass, them fish are gorgeous.

OK here's a good one , I want to go to New Zealand for Great whites .
Then Id go again to Mexico to do some big marlin / Dorado ( Dolphin fish )
Then to Boca Grand pass Which is Florida, for some of the worlds biggest tarpon , Those are both trips Ive done and would love to do again . But New Zealand definitely a # 1 in my books .

Well we hooked up to a few monsters never got them in as bull shark attacks are very common there . But grouper would be so much fun man . and red fish or king fish . Red fish are supposed to put up some of the toughest fight of any sport fish , not to sure as i'm not a pro , but this is what Ive heard . Yep in 2002 I was in Florida / Mexico made it a 5 week holiday nothing but fishing

Ya I've been wondering about them red's. They are a very popular fish down there. The way them Tarpon shake their heads has me sold though. Damn near like they are about to shake their heads right off. They also get HUGE air.

Yep sharks are a truely amazing creature , kinda like fire I think if you respect them and the power they have , you wont end up hurt but the second you arent respectful of it BAM say good bye .

Pangassi Boukourei ( shark fin catfish ) in the Mekong

river in Vietnam ... Run to about 300 lbs with average

150 lbs...You can buy their distant cousins in Safeway

called BASA fillet . They are farmed in the Mekong Delta ......Apparently they find some interesting

objects in these when filleted ...You dont use chicken livers

for these cats , probably the whole chicken

I would one day love to take my family the tropic star lodge in Panama they have everything from Marlin to Cubera Snapper. In a setting that can only be descibed as national geographic country (right off the web page).

I would also like to go to the Amazon to catch peacock bass with top water plug. I saw a fishing show on this one time & it looked like an awesome adventure.

I agree.. I sitck with my choices too.


LOTW why? because nothern ontario is the most beutiful are I have ever been and because my favoright article/fish story growing up was Ken O'Brien's Canadian muskie record story. I'd love to fish in water where you know a new world or canadian record muskie is probably sitting somewhere within view.

I also picked the amazon because it's so uncivilized and you never know whats down there.

I guess that you have to have been there but sea run brookies in the fall on the creeks flowing into James Bay equal brookies in Lab.Sea run brown trout in Newfoundland.Eagle River salmon.Lake Athabaska lakers and grayling and the list can go on and on
