Default Auger extension time?

I haven't been out since the deep freeze started, do I need to buy an extension for my ION yet?

I looked on the ice thickness thread and didn’t see anyone mentioning needing the extension yet. Probably not a bad idea to have one with you , better safe than sorry especially if you drove a couple hours and couldn’t get through the ice.

I would purchase one just in case as stock is low at select stores when I was looking for my Ion auger

I'm down to the hub on the G2s in the Sturgeon/Snipe area. Oddly, I fished a nearby stocked pond yesterday that had close to a foot less ice.

Calling was pretty thick this weekend. Just got through using my Eskimo pistol bit with maybe an inch or 2 to spare. Started looking for an extension but most places are sold out now.. uh oh

I was out yesterday near Whitecourt. I was surprised by the increase in one week. No extension needed yet, but it grew by almost a foot.
