Nah things are just fine. I've never felt the need to limit myself with a small gun.

Here's the next step up from the 223 if the young kids are recoil sensitive.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6%C3%9745mm

6mm-45 based off the 223 cartrage.

Very mild recoil, fun to shoot, and it might fit into the Alberta hunting regulations.

What is the length of cartrage set at in this Province

The cartridge restrictions were removed several years ago with the introduction of the Shortmag cartridge family .
There are several members here who have used the 223 and 222 mag based wildcats in both competition and hunting .
The first time I shot one I was pleasantly surprised .
That was many years ago however and did not have one built myself

I've got a 6x45 (.223) and a 6x47 rem, (.222 magnum), the 6x45 is my light rifle in New Zealand, I've not had it long, and am very impressed thus far, got a few goats and couple deer, mostly shooting a Serria 80 or 85 gr at game, 2850 with the 80 gr, 85 gr at 2790 fps, certainly a step up form the.222 it replaced.
My 6x47 is twisted 1-14 so I am limited to the 75 gr weight range as a max, can move these at 3000 no problem, seams to put coyotes down with no issues, and it's fun at the range, and very accurate.

A option of recoil reducing stocks

https://blackhawk.com/products/long-...ht-rifle-stock

Fully adjustable to fit all shooters.

I thought this as well. I had a 243 WSSM that would kill just about anything well. Faster slightly than a 243 with less felt recoil. I never Hunter with it but it would be a great gun for recoil sensitive shooters IMO.
