Default Salmon Fly Hooks in 100 Packs

Hey everyone,

Im looking for inexpensive daiichi 2441 or 2421 (or similar mustad signature, or partridge hooks) salmon hooks in smaller sizes like 8-10 in 100 packs. The trouble is that the prices seem so expensive ($10 for 10 or 15 hooks) and with shipping from the USA its just out of the question.

I was wondering if you guys know of a place where I can find such hooks without breaking the bank. I use to order from Thornes Manufacturing, but they are now retired. Its too bad bcause that place was the best.

Anyways,

Thanks a million

Phil

I usually buy from Jerry Doak in New Brunswick www.wwdoak.com

The Daiichi 2421's are $6.25 per 10

He also has Tiemco TMC7999 @ $4.75 for 10

Partridge code M's are $11.50 for 25. I don't like Partridge since they moved their production to Asia, they don't have the quality of Daiichi or Tiemco. I was getting 1 or 2 bad hooks per 25. Annoying especially when the hooks are not even tempered and straighten right out.

Superfly also had their own brand of salmon hooks which I found to be good, but it is some time since I bought any.

How many flies are you tying? I know some guys that tie semi-professionaly or in bigger numbers that buy wholesale from Serge Boulard Inc in QC.
