Default Zone 102 and area camping/cabin options

Looking for fall cabin rentals or camping ideas for areas in and around zone 102. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ross ranch is going to put you out at the end of their driveway with about 25 others. There is so many people there that its not my cup of tea.
That road there is just pounded by hunters.

But they also used to have a cabin they would rent. Couple buddies stayed there for their elk hunt and it did the trick nicely

When we went antelope hunting down there and we were looking for permission we stopped into a landowners place and as they were writing us up permission to carry, we asked about camping down there.

They let us camp right in their yard! With power... and zero conditions/fees. When we left we gave them a card and some thank you’s inside as well as all the frozen and fresh groceries from our fridge. There are some salt of the earth people down there.

That specific property has new owners since, so nothing to pass on sadly. Go early and talk to as many folks as you can.

Default Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park

I went antelope hunting down there two years ago and stayed here. Not sure what it will be like this year with all the Covid precautions but might be worth a look. About a 25 minute drive to the west side of 102 if I remember right.

We also stayed there during our antelope hunt in October, 3years ago.We had a trailer, the power was on at the trailer sites, the showers were closed but there were clean outdoor
biffies.
It is very secluded down in the valley and well treed. There were only about 6 other campers there at that time.
Deer were wandering around the campgound around dusk and were around when we left early in the morning.
The fee at that time was $25 a night. It would be my first choice if I was camping down in that area again.
Goo luck on your trip. SPRMN
