Default Youth draws/11 yr old

So I'm trying to enter my 11 yr old son for draws. He has his hunters ed, it's registered to his WIN. When I try to buy anything on RELM it says he is'nt elegible to buy licenses. I understood he could apply for the draws because he turns 12 in July. What are we doing wrong?

Maybe he needs a wildlife certificate before purchasing any draws?

I know adults do require it

He should be able to enter the draws at age 11, if he is 12 by the time the season opens. We did this with my son.

I just entered Draws for my 11 Year old daughter she will turn 12 during the fall hunting season. I had to purchase her wildlife certificate and I was able to enter her into all the draws expect antelope.

Must purchase wildlife certificate first.

It won't even let me buy a wildlife certificate.

Default It will not work

Back before having to buy a WC to enter draws it would have. Since now you need a certificate it will not work.

It’s sucks but thank the anti-hunters for causing this issue.

Thanks
Tony

Ah, so he has to be 12 to buy the Wildlife certificate? And you can't enter the draws without it. He probably wouldn't have gotten drawn(antlerless mule&whitetail) this year, but he'll miss out on a years priority.

I would suggest everyone send an email to their MLA and AEP, that is a change that needs to be made to the system. As long as they are 12 at any point during the open season they are attempting to draw for they should be eligible to enter the draw, and subsequently purchase the now required WC. Our oldest will be 11, turning 12 just before November 2024, I attempted to start acquiring draw priorities for him at 10 months of age. Wish that would have worked!!

What do you mean it's registered to his win? The number needs to be entered on his profile at the bottom of the main page. The page that opens after he logs in to the Alberta relm site.

Before everyone gets their panties in a knot, I'm sure there's an error in what the OP is trying to do. I just did it tonight with my 11-year-old. Turns 12 in november. No issues.

And yes, they can buy a wildlife certificate and hunting license before they're 12. They can buy one at 10 to hunt game birds.

ok, forget everything I said. On his profile page we had a "no" where we should have had a "yes". He is in for Elk, Moose, antlerless deer, Turkey. He might get drawn for a antlerless mule.
Turns out he gets a bird license with his wildlife certificate!
Thanks to those who chimed in.
