Default Ultimate Fall Rod

Looking to get a new rod this fall. I want something that chucks streamers, with a little back bone to it.

What's everyone else using?

I like my 6wt Sage 99 for nymphing and hucking streamers.

Not sure if they're still making them.

I have the Loop opti coast 6wt, and that would work perfectly for smaller streamers. Bigger streamers you could get it in 7wt model. I also have the loop greenline 7wt and sage bass II 9wt (but that's more of a pike rod since it's only 7'11"). Sage bolt and method both are great for streamers as well. Also the hardy proaxis and loomis NRX.

I got a new streamer rod this year, primarily for fishing the bow river or bull trout. Its a redington vapen red, 9' 7wt. So far i am really liking it. Kinda wish it came in a 10', but the 9' still does the job just fine. It was an awesome rod this summer for swinging streamers on the st marys rapids for steelhead.

Default Streamers

I just bought the new TFO Impact rod in a 6 wt. this summer, it's an awesome rod for the money. Just over $400, it's an upgrade to the BVK that I have. It's got a chipped cork handle that's nice to look at, and adds a bit of grip to it as well. It cast almost as good as my Sage One, but it's about $400 less,it chucks streamers very well, but is not , too stiff for dries either. It does everything quite well, it also has alignment dots, which is kind of nice, and has warranty out of Calgary.I have Sage, Hardy, Loomis, and Orvis rods, that I am quite happy with. This Impact rod, at half the price, does not feel out of place, It's a great rod, do yourself a favour, and cast one. I will be getting another one in an 8 wt. for a Pike rod.

Yeah the Vapen is actually awesome! Plus you can get some pretty sweet grips for it.

What is your primary quarry? Trout? Pike?
