Default Go Pro or safari for ice fishing?

Just bought a Safari 3 action cam for the vehicle and it occurred to me that with the waterproof housing I could connect it to my smartphone(bluetooth?) and stick it down the hole for ice fishing. Anyone ever tried it? Do you have any ideas for a brace for it?

Bluetooth / Wi-Fi won't work underwater ... and if it did it wouldn't be for long.

You need a hard wired antenna to get the signal out.
I use a Gopro Hero 3+ with an antenna to my phone. The wire antenna is just taped to the camera case and the back of the phone. Using the Gopro app, you have an underwater camera.
Here is the link to the vid my kid made on Gull:

I just used some u-bolts and mounted the camera to some 3/4" pvc jammed into the mud.
