Chain Lakes Reservoir / Provincial Park, Feb 7. I did not measure the ice but there were cars on the lake. I would say 12'' or more. Fished after 3PM. Fishing was slower than usual for me but I usually fish in the morning. It was hard to walk on the lake since there is slush on top of the ice. The top layer of the slush is frozen and in some places can hold your weight but in most places it doesn't. On top of the partially frozen slush there is snow.

Default McGregor Lake

At the north end the ice was 21-22inches. Nice and solid.

Was out on south Newell and "deep south Newell" on Sun/Mom and had minimum 21" everywhere we drilled. Easy drive on at JFB. Unfortunately nothing but snotties. Managed to find some Walters a little further south, tho nothing bigger than low 20s...

For general knowledge, ice thickness at Twin Lakes was 23” on Saturday and on Sunday at Mink Lake the ice was 24”…..fishing was slow overall.

How was that pressure ridge in JFB? I heard a vehicle went in on the weekend.

Not sure about a ridge, but there was a crack a few inches wide. Drove over it very slowly and had no issues. There were several trucks on the ice between the island and shore, including a few by the permy shack.

Plenty of ice in the east arm. Trucks everywhere last week. Careful if you venture down the southeast arm. I drove down to check a spot and was shocked to find that I was on 9” of ice. Shoreline drive home with a few pucker moments.

I saw a lot of water along the shoreline. Should I be concerned to drive on the lake? The pigeon lake ice is over 2 ft

Currently you can use a 2wd car to drive all over the lake. 10cm in the forecast will be good for your sled bring whatever makes you happy this is the year of all options on the table

Probably just meltwater from the shores accumulating. Scary to look at but it’s mind over matter usually. Just like the noise of the ice when she’s rumbling

Default Buck Lake Ice

Heading to Buck Lake this weekend. Can anyone share ice thickness? Assuming driving on shouldn’t be a problem? Haven’t been there in a couple of years

Buddy was there last Sunday. Said it was 20” ice.
Not sure where he was at on the lake.

I’ve been out there and there’s been lots of trucks out.

As always drill a couple of holes and make your decision.

Have fun!

It was 19.5 inches where I was last weekend. So should be good to go.
