Boot Repair
I have a pair of Russell Boots I’d like to have some vibram soles put on.
I did a search but seems some are out of business. I’m in Turner Valley so south Calgary or near here.
Thanks for any help

I have two pairs of boots headed here, I got the name from MEC. They send people here with hiking boots. I don't have my boots back so cannot attest to their work.

another option
Norseman Outdoors in Calgary has an arrangement with Kumpfy Shoes in Canmore: drop off and pickup at Norseman's location on 37 St. SW.
More information here: https://norsemanoutdoorspecialist.co...s-and-services
Has anyone had hiking boot repairs done by either Conti or Kumpfy? What was your experience?
I need to get my Mammuts resoled, including rebuilding the heel section; looking for a quality solution as well.

I have tried various shops but the best job I have had done in a long time was at Contis shoe repair on Edmonton trail Calgary. You have to prepay for the job and they won't be ready tomorrow. Best to check the wait time if in a hurry.

Best place in Calgary and probably Alberta is Alpine Shoe Repair here in Calgary. A couple of oldtimers that have been there forever.

Why not just send them to Russells, they rebuild their boots that are 50 years old and guarantee the result.

Conti's did a great job repairing and resoling my Mammuts; they look almost new. Cost was reasonable, and they were ready on schedule. He will be getting all my boot repairs from now on.
FTR- I was tempted to try Alpine based on the other comments, but couldn't convince myself to deal with the stupidity down in Kensington. It's not worth the aggravation when there are other options available.

I also had Russell Boots with vibration soles, but after a while, they came off and I had to go to a shoe repair service to get them glued in place. After the renovation, there was enough excess glue that made my boots look not very presentable. After the repair, I had to remove the glue from shoes . I had to use acetone, however, I washed off this glue for a long time, by the way, after using acetone, you need to wash off the affected area with water. But in the end, I was satisfied with the result and wore them for a long time.

That would be my choice. I have had Redwings fixed by Redwing and they came out perfect.

Ha, an old post. I ended up sending them back to Russell. They work fine.
Thanks
