I have no idea why they went with a smaller EB engine.
I read somewhere last night that they were coming out with an eight cyl EB engine. Now that would be a bandwagon I would get on. We will see.

I'm interested to see how the aluminum body panels work out for cost/durability. My dad had a rental f-150 parked in his driveway when a hailstorm rolled thru and pounded the neighborhood. The only damage the truck sustained in the storm was to the aluminum hood, and it was significant. The other steel panels were fine.

Also interested to see how much more the aluminum will drive up the purchase price.

For a in town grocery getter it should be fine. 2.7L for a full sized crewcab on the highway??? Either they have broken, no, smashed the horsepower/weight ratio big time, and they are getting F1 type performance out of the little thing (1000hp out of a 1.6l @19000 rpm) or they are going to turn the little sewing machine motor back into pop cans in short order.
