Default Making 30-06 brass into .270

Is this a simple pass through a .270 die?

That pretty much covers it. The 3006 brass will be a bit shorter (around 10 thou, iirc) than the 270. You shouldn't need to do any trimming for several shots. It's been well over a decade since I've done this, someone with a better memory than mine will chime in I'm sure.

Yes, unless it is an extremely tight necked custom chambered 270 then you might have to pay attention to neck diameter. Sizing down 30-06 brass to 270 will make the neck walls a little thicker. No problem in a factory chamber. As long as your loaded rounds have a smaller neck diameter than fired brass from the chamber your going to use them in it will be no problem. 30-06 brass is a smidgen shorter.

Thanks. I'm wanting to shoot Lapua brass (ie no 270) and it will be through a factory chamber.
