Been discussed a few times here. In short, there is no comparison between the A7 stock and a good walnut stock. For feel and beauty, a good wooden stock has my vote every time. For lightweight, and sturdiness in rough conditions, the A7 stock seems to hold its own. It's not the king of synthetic stocks by any measure. But Sako managed to produce a lightweight, accurate rifle for a very decent price. Yes, I own one in .270 Win, and it has quickly become my go-to rifle for deer and sheep.
