Default RL 17 burning characteristics

Anybody have any experience with RL17 in a 308 win ? I just got my hands on several pounds and would like to know how the powder behaves especially if your reaching max pressures. It is my understanding that you can get an extra 50 - 100 fps over RL15 or Varget with 168 gr bullets.

I tried it in a 308 with 168 TSX. Couldn't get enough powder in the case to get good velocity. It needs heavier bullets in that caliber. Stick with RL15, Varget, IMR4895, IMR4064, TAC, W748. Known proven powders with that bullet.

I agree with pockets. My .308 liked 44gr of RL15 with 165 bullets. and WLR primers.
