Default license fees

Just adding up my 2007 licenses, and to fish within a 50 km radius of home, it's costing $120.00 this year!

$22.50 Alberta
$34.65 National Parks
$55.80 B.C.

plus taxes!

Well I don't golf or ski. but I'm pretty sure it would cost more for lift tickets or green fees than that for a year.

that's some serious coin.
I wonder why the Parks are so high considering they don't stock anymore. I wish I had more time to fish the Parks as some lakes are just phenominal.

That's what I'm thinking Duffy,

If the funds were well spent, I wouldn't mind seeing the Alberta license fee go up some.

And unlike BC, Alberta charges all Canadians exactly what they charge their own residents. I'd like to a reciprocal arrangement where we charge other provinces what they charge Albertans!

I get tired of being viewed as a cash cow by the governments in BC.

Also, I'm surprised (but pleased) that fishing is still permitted in the national parks. After all, you're not even permitted to pick berries or mushrooms, or interfere with any other wildlife -seems strange that catching fish and even killing some is permitted!

Default Woah!

Wow Lethal! You really plan on getting around :eek
Very cool!

To the original poster, yeah, I'm probably going to spend similar $$$ for, of course, Alberta and Jasper NP. I'm also fishing the BC coast this year so I will need a 4 day license there as well. Well worth the $$$ IMO. It is clear that AB is one of the lower licensing costs.
