Default emerald lake/ carson lkae report

went north of whitecourt yesterday in search of emerald lake.
much thanks to "bearbait" for his awesome directions.
had a snag tho...followed the directions into the rig roads, never found the lake becaus of a devastated washout of the road!!!! not 100% sure i didn't just miss the lake and drive too far, but the road got worse and worse, foot deep ruts, and then there was a "bridge out" sign and the road was no more!!! BARELY made it outta there in my wee 2WD !!!!
went to carson to salvage the day. found fish in every depth from 2' to 22' deep. the best by far was 7-8' deep. caught +20 'bows with the star of the day being a fat little 15"-er. nothing big but had a ton of fun!!! they were very aggressive and wearing their deep, dark spawing colors!!!
lots of fun. have to give finding emerald another shot in open water.
cheers, gw

hey thanks bearbait!!!!
i definately want to try again after ice-out.
i have a feeling i missed it cuz i actually found the cyries station and continued past it for a long ways.
i assume emerald is a no motors lake.
we probably will attempt 'er with the bellyboats in the spring.
cheers, gw
