Default Found a dead wolf

Nice find on the way into trapline this am. Dead wolf on the side of the rd! No damage. Must have been hit this morning. Probably a 2 year old nice colour. Will post a pic later from home. Time to break more trail and get a few sets out

Sweet! Gotta love it when they get dropped at your feet, sort of.

I've tried to salvage a few road kill critters over the years. Never found one that wasn't damaged though.

I wonder if it was poisoned and happened to die on the road? Once you skin it you may find some internal damages that explain its death. Cool windfall for you.

Don't think it was poisoned found it near the oil sands industrial area! Can't find and breaks or skin damage. Need to find or make a stretcher before I thaw it. I think it was hit by a vehicle. It was not frozen solid when I found it. Just stiff

Team Anzac you from Anzac? He looked a little that way but I think he was hit by a truck. I need to get a stretcher and brush him out and have a good look. Don't really care either way as it was a free find.

Find a wolf... something that doesn't happen often. Fall 2011 I hear 2 elk bugling in the middle of the night, and quickly 3 wolf pack started howling. Half an hour later I heard the wolves again, but closer to where the elk were. So in the morning I went in the general area where I heard those critters over night and found a dead wolf, no bullet hole. My guess is, he probably got killed by an elk.

has a full belly, probably not killed by elk, would suspect it wasn`t following the packs credo.also more than one pack means someone is gonna get it.have seen spots where the packs cross trails an the area looks like a left over battle zone.
