Default Duke 110'S

An old timer I know has "3 dozen new old stock Duke 110's" and 3 dozen used Victor 110's he wants to give to me, what would the value be on these, he wont take any money, but I want to give him something in trade for them of equql value.

The old fellla is a very honourable gentleman if he does not want any compensation for the Duke. The Victors are probably OK, it just depends on what you want to set them for. Either if them are not good for many critters, other than weasel, mink and muskrat. So make yourself feel good and get him something nice just for the gesture...

New they were worth $5.00 each or thereabouts. Today they are worth half that tops. They aren't legal for anything bigger then a Muskrat these days.

This makes them next to useless. Setting them for Weasel or Squirrel can get a person in trouble because they will catch and kill animals up to the size of a Fisher and if the wrong person sees a Fisher, Marten or Mink in one of those traps you could be in a heap of dodo.

I do believe you can use them for Mink but not Marten or Fisher.

with the price of muskrats, 6 dozen free rat traps is a good deal. if you have a place to trap rats?

Interestingly, neither the trapping regs booklet nor the Fur Institute website list any trap, body or leghold as certified for use on Mink.

I even checked the Alberta Government trapping regulation website and found no mention of Mink.

http://www.albertaregulations.ca/tra...p-requirements

I'm not sure what that's about. So you could be right, but how is one to know?

Default Mink

There is no traps certified for mink as they are not on the "hitlist" of animals that were included by the European union. Fox is also not on the list.

No kidding!!

Now I wonder why that would be. It couldn't be because they have both Mink and Fox and none of the of the animals on the list could it?

I smell a bit of hypocrisy here.

Thanks Desert Eagle, that's interesting stuff.
