I hunt and trap land that the family owns along the battle river, trap line is in the stettler area, family owned land . Hunting the Battle is not for the faint hearted. lol shooting beaver down stream and trying to make it back up steam before dark with only 4 inches of the boat showing above water.

lol, done that many times. We learned quickly to go upstream first and come back down at dark.

My blanket beaver sold for 48 bucks to the local fur buyer and its 5 bucks less for every hole, 22 mag head shots. avg 39 bucks for 70 beaver, was able to get 15 a day. Any way I looked at it, I still came out money ahead. cost me 22 bucks in 22 mag rounds, 80 bucks in fuel, and I charge myself 18 bucks to do them. still a fun spring.

Do you sell any thru auction ? nice to sell local and avoid shipping and commision charges but I would think maybe a few of your selects would bring more from auction , no ?

I always sell local. have 3 fur buys which in 45 mins for here, sure I could get more but its a gamble too. I only sell my select yotes on the auction, beaver and rats go to the fur buyer cause its seems like they are never stable.
