Default Newell Lake Ice Fishing

I am new to this forum. I am also a new icefisher person. The only gifts I opened last Christmas were holes in the ice at Spray Lakes, AB, and the only gifts I received were the many fish we hauled out of them. I am planning a trip to Newell Lake to ice fish and have a few questions: 1. When can I wet a line? 2. Did I hear right and did the lake loose many fish this past Aug due to water temps? 3. I know where the pike and walleye are but I've heard there is also trout in this lake, where are they? I have been intensely enjoying fly fishing these past few years and am right enthrawled with ice fishing so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
