Default New Mushroom Picker - Burnt Timber area

Was hoping to tag along with an experienced mushroom picker/group that wouldn't mind teaching me how to identify mushrooms. I have been going to the Burnt Timber and surrounding area for years and see lots of mushrooms, however, I am only comfortable identifying a couple of varieties. Thanks!

Join this group. Great information and newsletters, and they have a few 'forays' every year where you can tag along with people who are glad to share their knowledge!

There are a lots at edible mushrooms but some you can only eat once….
On a serious note- lots of them are edible but don’t taste good. Stick to bolets, those don’t have a poison twins. Also, the chanterelles- if you are lucky to find them.
