Default Back for more Cold Lake Lakers

Came back out yesterday with Champion and Viral Override. We hit the ice for a couple hours in the evening but no luck. Went and watched our Oilers contribute to the Flames not making the playoffs and hit the hay.

Came out this morning at 7 and got set up in a different spot. Viral dropped his hook down and fish on. His first ever Laker.

After a bunch of hits and a few losses I got one.

And just as I was starting this thread I got my second of the day right after Champion lost one.

Were staying on the ice tonight so hopefully the bites stay the way they are.

Will update as the day goes on

Looks like the one I caught and kicked back down the hole, it a good thing it spit my jig out or else I would have had to cut the line and lost a expensive jig. No sane person should touch ine with their hands.

After a windy rainy night we got woke up by bells ringing and a laker on.

Then we got into a few more over breakfast.

Champion got his firat ever Laker. 10lb 1oz

As I'm updating we had to put things on hold as Champion got his second.

Do you guys think the lake will be drivable next weekend? The forecast says lows around - 10 and highs around -2 for the week.. lots of snow too, it says they are gonna get around 30 cm of snow this week. Whats your thoughts???

Not sure on the ice Critter. I would love to hit it up one more weekend but not sure if possible. Time will tell.

We go into a couple more today. One of Viral's lakers was released before a picture and Champion got into another.

And a little fish head shot for DACE

We had a bit of a rough night sleeping out on the ice in the FatFish. Once it started to rain which wasn't too bad the wind picked up. Probably 50km/hour. It sucked. Had the tent all tied down good but the wind shifted angles in the day and was blowing on the side of the tent. We made it to midnight without much trouble. The wind died down and the rain stopped. To sleep we went. Just as I was about to doze off I got a hit and bells were jingling. No luck. Fell asleep and we were woke up at 2:30 by more wind and rain. By this time all the snow around the skirt melted in the rain and we had to head out and drill a bunch of shallow holes and throw the snow on the skirt. Then we were warm and comfy. Then at 6am we Virals rod got a hit and our day started.

It was a great weekend and we all had an awesome time. Now back to work and see what next weekend brings.
