Default Minnow Traps

Has anyone had any luck with the little two half, cylinder shaped minnow traps? I have not had much luck so far, any tip would be great. Time of day depth, bait to use etc.
Thanks

It is the same as real estate; location, location, location..

Scout around to find a spot where they are first of all. Can't catch what isn't there. I usually hunt for bait in the weedy clumps, and pockets in the reeds.

For bait I use bread, liver or bacon( forgot to save some bread from breakfast).

We always used bread for minnows and worked great. For leeches we used liver.

Are you trying to catch minnows or crayfish?
Those are the traps I use for crayfish with a little modification.

If it's crayfish you're after p/m me.

I use to have a commercial licence used them all the time had a mix of water flour corn meal and a little cheese whiz to make dough balls then used mesh to holdem to the middle of the trap. you can fill them till you wonder how the one more minnow would fit payed part of my way through school.

And liver is teh key to the leaches as mentioned
