Outboard Motor Restrictions

Hey Guys,
Are there motor restrictions in most Alberta lakes?

I'm picking up a 25HP tomorrow, in the past I have never ran anything bigger than a 10HP on a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat.
I'm not up on the new regulations for boaters because I've been out of it for a long time. Do I need to register my boat now? I did get a set of stick on numbers when I bought the boat but they were not on the boat, they came with the manual. Whats up with that?

Any info would be appreciated!

Very few restrictions on Alberta lakes but always good to consult the regs before heading out. Yes, you will need to register it.

I just registered a boat. It was very easy just go to any one of the Service Canada offices around(they have opened lots lately). Took me about 5 mins and best of all IT WAS FREE!! I don't think there is any restrictions YET but one day they will likely ban 2 strokes I bet.

Is there a reg. for motors that have a built in gas tank ? I am seeing more of this motors at Hasse and Dolberg.
