Default Lowrance HDS 7

Hey guys. I just picked up a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen1 from the Fishin Hole for 800 bucks (last one out of Saskatoon). I actually haven't played around with these a whole lot but wanted to upgrade my old Lowrance X-48 and this seemed like a popular unit. Can anyone tell me about these units? Any tips to get the most out of it? I didn't get the LSS-1 unit. Figured the extra $ could go towards an I-pilot equipped trolling motor.

Hey there, I've had an HDS unit for 3 years now, and have pretty much done everything you can do with it. So if you are in the Edmonton area and want a crash course let me know and we can get together. I would be typing a very long time trying to explain everything on here. However if you have any specific questions feel free to ask! They are Awsome units! Money well spent!

Thanks to troyfitt, it looks like I will get another $200 off the unit in the form of a Visa prepaid card from Lowrance. Getting an HDS7 for 600 bucks is a good deal even if it is a Gen 1 in my books.
