Default MacGreggor Lake

Drove down to the north end of MacGreggor on Saturday to see what kind of shape the ice is in. It is melting around the shore. Maybe just 3 or 4 more hot sunny days and it will be fishable?

It is great to know that when MacGregor is open for fishing again on May 8th that it will not be frozen over. Until then, I recommend not fishing the lake.

IMO the guys new-ish. Posted on here. That's participation. We taught him something. Probably did a good thing for generations to come. Let's not make him feel bad but rather teach him the ropes. We're more experienced, been on the forum longer. Been through it all. Not everyone fishes as much as us. He showed initiative by getting excited about open water at least. Hope the OP has a successfull year and has learned a bit.

There are some lakes in that general area that are open to fish all year, and some are probably a lot easier to fish than Mac. If you cant find them in the regs shoot me a PM

Default Apology tendered

Hope I didn't get anyone thinking that I would fish closed waters. Just eager to see the ice gone. This time of the year is kinda dead. Not safe on the ice and no open water. Come on wind - blow!

I wasn't being snotty with my response. I actually think it is great that you reported the ice status because I am super eager to hit the lake in May. I also just wanted to make sure that you didn't get in trouble with F&W.
