Those diamond ones do look useful, though the small size of them seems a bit less convenient. They would be great for making your own 'stones' for use with that Russian sharpener I had linked earlier, just adhere them to a suitable substrate cut to fit the sharpener.

If the steel your working with can be honed with SiC you'll only be throwing your money away on diamond paste.
You don't need CBN or diamond until your dealing with vanadium carbides which are harder then SiC. Even then, CBN is approx twice as hard as said carbides and has no problem cutting them.

Some of the knives I have in CPM M4 take a really long time to sharpen with SiC. Much faster with CBN or Diamond lapping paste.
