Default Pigeon Lake March 26

Had a productive evening at Pigeon. Managed two whites. Biggest one was 3.5 lbs. Release a couple of burbot. Missed on the one and only wallie I saw.

Turned out to be a nice evening. No one around and a great sunset.

Cheers!

I was out on Pigeon from 4:30 till 9:00pm today (Sun the 28th) Yes we drove on without any troubles.
There is getting to be a lot of surface water. Some places it was 5" deep.
With the warm weather the next few days please be carefull when driving on. The ice will go quick now.

Agreed. Made it out again yesterday for the evening. Pleasant evening other than one wind gust that moved me and the tent...put my foot out for a brake though. Figures at the time I was playing a whitefish....probably thought where did that hook go?

Fishing was hot! Caught 7 eyes, 9 burbot and 1 fat mother of a white. White just about made the 4 lb mark. It went insane after I hooked it. Running every direction at full tilt speed. I'm amazed I landed it. It was also the first time I ran into a burbot ball on Pigeon this year. Biggest was likely close to about 8 lbs.

Some pics:

End of a great day.

Can't imagine topping this evening, especially at Pigeon. I'm hanging up the auger for the year and picking up a the fly rod.

Have a great end to the season all.
Cheers!

That wind gust shortly after 6:00pm was crazy. Then it quit just as fast as it started. It literally it died down in 20 seconds.

Just a couple more pics of the clouds at sunset.

just got back from pigeon. It was very slow today compared to last week. The ice is starting to get soft and the boat launch at the provincial park is also deteriorating fast.I think i would give it till the end of the week to drive on.And that wind was also nasty toady!!!

Was out at Pigeon Lake on Mulhurst. It was an pretty good day for one reason. I caught two walleye but I also managed to catch a four pound whitefish.

Drove on, on tues eve. The boat launch is still decent access!! The surface water is taking out the ice quick tho. The holes we were in didn't really freeze (& it was 3 days before) It won't be long before driving is not an option! We ended up with 1 burb, & about 2 doz 'eyes!! Good night out if it weren't for the wind!!

Last night(March 31) was super slow. We only ended up catching one white. Quite the change in fishing conditions the last 4 days.
If you guys do head out there in the next couple weeks please make sure to be careful driving on.
We drove on at the Mameo side and it was pretty sketchy getting on. Once you were on the ice there were some soft spots to watch out for.
