How small is small? I figured that there wouldn't be anything at all left in there. We do live very close to it, so it might be worth a trip out.

About 4 mins from my house I would head out there. Not sure if we would get anything. But hey we would get the lines wet. Good place to get them first few ugly cast with the fly rod out of my system before I start out on the quest for Moby. Anyone a member of Sarcee here , when does the private pond open and is it ice free?

I am a new member of Sarcee, but I don't have my membership package yet. As a result, I don't know a darn thing about the private pond. I don't even know where it is (but I anxiously look forward to finding out).

Sounds like a plan. Will Mrs. jts1 be up for it? I look forward to meeting her eventually

I purchased our family membership so that #1 son and I could do their ladies/youth hunter ed program, but I was quite impressed when I read about some of the other things made available to members.

I signed up a month ago (or thereabouts . . . whenever "Captain" posted in the general forum looking for ladies who wanted to take hunter ed), and I am still waiting on the membership package. I don't have a card or anything with a membership number on it yet, either. I'm sure it'll be here eventually.

My cuz was out there just the other day, its pretty much still frozen solid. Apparently the Crossfield ponds are somewhat fishable now though. Probably have better luck there this time of year anyhow as they stock it with about 10 times the amount of fish as the private one. Im pretty sure that the private pond was mostly fished out last year as we never got a single sniff just before the it froze over this winter. I did ice fish the crossfield pond one day over the winter and caught 2 pretty decent bows.

Hi everyone.
Im also a sarcee member. The sarcee pond wont get stocked until around mid june. They hold a disabled tourny each year, and Last year they Put in 350 rainbow and a good half of them were taken then during it. Last season it was opened to members on june 16. The same day the good rivers open so i wasnt able to make opening day.I c&r'd a lot of big rainbows in the following few weeks.
As for the crossfield trout ponds...i took a spin past there yesterday after work. There was a small east west strip of open water in the north pond. The other was a little more iced. It wiil be gone soon. 2008 season the day the ice came off i went there to cast some of the rust off. Not really fishing, more warming up than anything. There were no fish rising so i put on my sinking line and a wooley bugger. Bam .. big rainbow on.
Heres a pic of it

As you can see by the measure net, that fish is 19 inches.

Fishstix!!
