Good to hear you're at home now Dave.

I won’t be able to push myself even if I wanted to lol I have staples running from the base of my sternum right down into my groin, they had to open my abdomen completely up and it took around 50 staples just to close me back up with that incision. Homecare is coming tomorrow to remove the staples which is going to be a bonus because they are so itchy right now they’re driving me nuts
The other stitches are the dissolvable ones so those will just go on their own in time. I can walk in the house a bit but if I was to try and walk even a short distance I’d still have to use a walker like I did in the hospital. I’m also limited in what I can lift for a minimum of three months as well so I don’t get a hernia or some other damage. Well off to bed to hibernate again

Holy Crap Dave.

I don't mean that iiterally. (i'm hoping humour is part of your healing)

All I can say is get your rest, keep your sense of humour and good will, and please know that there are a bunch of folks that want you to get well as soon as you are able.

I wish there were more trip reports, cool experiences, interesting stories on AO to entertain you when you are feeling up to it.

In the interim, I'll send you a link to TreeGuy's playhouse, supplemented with Rockymtnx's big birdcoop.

The staples came out last Thursday and how they managed to get five staples inside my belly button is a mystery to me but boy did those ones sting coming out still driving me nuts with where all of them were being itchy
I’ve pretty much been just resting and sleeping a lot and homecare has been stopping by to help me with some of my health stuff now, they’re very helpful and nice so that’s a bonus. This is going to take some time before I’m able to get back out a bit etc, it’s really knocked the crap out of me, I’ve lost about 25 lbs since this happened.

I just a few weeks ago had hernia operation in the groin area ,knocked the he'll out of me for a week, used a walker for couple of days, only about 20 staples though. Can't imagine how crappy you must feel.Hope you are up and around soon all the best.

Nothing like being at HOME ! You really don't get any rest in a hospital.

Best wishes to you for a healthy recovery.

It sure is nice being home
I’ve been resting lots and am slowly getting a bit better each day still with the odd bad day but that’s to be expected. Starting to get drs appointments set up to see my surgeon again as well as a few other specialists. It’s going to be a quiet year for doing much for sometime to come but I’ll be up to some kind of mischief if you know me
Thanks for all the good wishes once again

Got a text from my pal today. He's going back in for a major procedure tomorrow and will be out of commission for quite some time. I'm sure Mudbug will appreciate a few hello's while he's in recovery.

Don't feel it's appropriate to post specifics as it is a health related issue, but it's a big thing and he's a tough sono***un for pushing through it!

As he says he's like 'a cat with 29 lives'
