Default Overkill for Alberta? (Pics)

Saw this out at the lake, maybe some of you have also. Amazing looking boat, but seems like a bit much for Alberta! Never seen a boat this big in Alberta on the water, just thought I'd share. 3x250hp Evinrudes... Alberta registration #s on it also...

He should have no problem handling any weather that Alberta can throw at him while out on the water.

I've seen bigger boats, just never on the water in Alberta. Just on trailers, probably heading somewhere else... Don't think there are too many places to launch stuff this size in Alberta.

When I lived in Victoria, all the rich people would dock their boats in the inner harbor, largest I saw had its own private helicopter pad (with helicopter) on the deck.

Guy that owned that boat was super nice on the weekend. It's a Florida(via ebay) boat originally and he now keeps it out on the island. Handled the whitecaps on Travers quite easily!lol Quite the site to see. Tops out at 65 mph.

that's Dennis Washingtons boat Attesa (<?), he owns most of the tugs on the coast,, rags to riches, grade 8 education, raised by his grandma,, great guy. While playing texas hold'em with his dockworkers he lost a million dollar condo on a bet to a gal and honored the bet,, not many bosses like that.

Thats my dream boat, I'd kill to have one similar to it. They had the one in Bass Pro for a long time with the twin motors on it, I use to go there and drool over it and sit in it for hours.

An open bow on the ocean would not be my choice. Pretty cool otherwise.

Depends on what and where youre going, unless you plan on getting into real big water on the west side of Van island, then this boat is more than capable. I have fished in 12 foot seas in mexico in boats very similar to this and it was a very comfortable ride with no issues.

Not sure about HP but lenght and masswise I've definatly seen bigger in AB.A few years back I ran across some people who were using a large cabin cruser to pull skiers on Clear Lake west of Barhead, which is pretty much a large pond. Highly inconciderate if you ask me. I know of a few guys on Slave Lake with cabin crusers that can spend an entire weekend fishing the north shore without setting foot on land.

Great boat

Hey if you can afford it then why not?

I know I'd have fun with some extra cash for toys

Not that the boat isnt big enough just having no protection from the wind and rain

And the Boston whalers that lodges like Langara use in the charlottes do have protection?

Open boat fishing is all well and good in decent weather but I'm too old and spoiled to freeze my b-g off fishing in a boat like that on a regular basis. Better suited to warmer climates imho. Great boat for Florida though.

I don't know? I would bet that most of the guiding outfits run protected boats.......Don't know what langara uses but in all reality I don't give a flying F cause as mentioned it was about personal choice.
If you have ever been out in a down pour, windy, wavey you can appreciate a protacted boat!!!!

One thing that always shocks me is the ignorant idiots you have on the water with their mastercrafts , loud music , lake disturbing waves , setting up their own slaloms with 100% boozing going on the boat ....

Its preposterous how boats this size and then the sheer numbers of big boats running a muck on the lake. its sickening....

For all the fishing issues and lack of enforcement im surprised no ones directed their attention to countless ignorant boaters on the water here .

It follows suit to the big trucks with loud exhausts , driving down my street at 1 am ....

In ontario we still had alot of boats , but i've never in my life seen something so disturbing in how these idiots dance around the lake .... should start banning these sorts of boats and put a restriction on volume ...

the other day i could hear the damn boat a mile away while it probly crushed 100 litres doing absolutely NOTHING , sorry folks , i have tremendous respect for the anglers here whether i agree or not on the topics .... but your pleasure craft operators are MORONS in Alberta ......

Would you rather he did it 100 yards away? If he has the money and finds it fun...have fun!
