Default Treestand Surfing

I'm sure lots of you are guilty of this, as am I.

How many of you bring your phones to the stand and surf the net, work and play poker?

Honestly I feel it gives me both an advantage and a disadvantage. Playing with my phone keeps me still, I don't fidget as much. But on the downside if something tiptoes by close before I hear / see it, it's one more dreaded movement. When a critter is close (lets say inside 20 yards) every movement feels like you're 2 stepping on your platform!

Posted from my stand of course

I was going to post a picture of the view but somebody told me iPhone pictures include coordinates that can be easily viewed when pictures are posted, anybody know how to avoid that? (For an old guy that's not all that tech saavy)

I bring mine to my stands as well. I like it for small interruptions but it keeps me connected to work too much....so I if I in the mood to stay "off the grid" and leave it turned off and in my pack so my hunting senses are "on".

You can turn GPS off by:
•Open the Settings app, then choose the “Privacy” settings
•Tap on “Location Services” and find “Camera” in the list of apps
•Flip the switch next to Camera to OFF

turn off the gps location in on privacy function tab ... i would suggest bring a portable power bar thing to recharge it .. the battery seem to drain faster when you playing games on it ..

I like to read. Next week I'll be studying the owners manual on my new GPS.
Also like to have my "stress ball" to squeeze while I'm sitting in one spot for that long. I have to quit smoking. lol

I can't get internet connection or make phone calls where I hunt. Can only make emergency calls.

Sorry, I don't get it. Surfing the net, watching TV, reading, drinking alcohol.... its all just stuff to get me through the tedium of regular life until I can go hunting again. Once I'm doing what I love most why on earth would I want to distract myself from it with 3rd rate pick me ups?

No electronics for me.

I enjoy the quiet time in a tree stand. It gives me time to think.
