Yeah more wolves than I've ever seen. Had them come with 100 yards of the tent on a pack trip in July.

No elk west of Lymburn anymore. They all migrated down to goodfare grazing lease.

That makes too much sense.... But I was from calahoo all the way to gundy.... Not a peep, then I was from gundy to teepee creek, one bugle, then teepee to kakwa river not a peep....
I get around... I do alot of night drives looking for vocal herds. Nothing really yet. I got into one herd. Had one bugle once, he still came into 20-30yds but not into the open.

The elk may quiet down some once sunrise happens . . . i've had them bugle till noon several times. Also they start to pipe up early evening. I like to bugle before dark an get a locate for the morning hunt. I did that a few years ago . . . he bugled once before dark . .. in the morning I found him in the same spot . . . he was dead by 11:30 am.

Been hearing them every day since the 25th around GP. This morning I had one screaming hard and coming finally. Then we heard another "bugle" (using the term loosely) East of us. Another hunter had parked beside me, walked past my truck, managed to get in between us and the bull and started "bugling" his head off. He walked right down the middle of the line to where we were calling from.
What a way to spoil a good morning.
They are making more and more noise every day and with these cold temps coming it's only going to get better.
