I agree, this great country is in a world of hurt with our magnificent provincial and federal gov's. Canada is presently running straight into the abyss!!

Might want to read this, too, from someone who worked with him for years. The selection of Conservative leader wanna-bes is dismal, to say the least.

How many people like who they work with and would have anything nice to say! Be honest, most likely very few or possibly none of them!!
Canada needs what Kevin says, but the question is, can he do it! Way better than what we are having jammed down our throats at this point!!!!

Anyone can sound good in a scripted safe environment...
I'm willing to be open minded about Mr. O'Leary, and I will reserve my personal judgement for now. Let's see how he dances once the fire gets turned on.

He is a fiscal conservative, but that's where it ends. He would fit better in the liberal party.

We are Canada, not the USA. I am a Conservative, but if he is the leader we can sit on the sidelines another four years because we will lose.

Don't Agree
As this is a forum I have to choose to disagree. I do not believe he would have the interests of the average Canadian in mind. Think Scrooge McDuck.
Arrogance would have to be really worked on but we all know that people don't change.
Now Brad Wall of Sask is a better choice. I like the lady candidate that calls a spade a spade. The others are just political clowns.

He was asked twice if he supported a carbon tax. His response was no but it felt he was saying yes. He is also not gun friendly and not in favour of the average joe...

It's about running an economic engine, and putting Canada in a strong position, and people to work. About his gun outlook , all I have heard is hearsay with no proof if it's negative. If he's as sensible about law abiding gun ownership, as he sounds about economic smarts(and I don't know why he wouldn't) that would be good. He'll have to be quizzed on that issue, there's lot's of time, he must realize it's a large portion of vote's, but as any leader, it's not on the top of their priority list, the economy is. He's right-- Turdeau is a train wreck.

O'Leary is no Trudeau....he is a vile person and he has displayed that persona quite publicly. You may as well write him off, besides he lives in Boston does he not?? He's not even committed to living in our country and you suggest he should be our PM??

Trudeau and his hair got 6.9 million votes. He didn't get those votes because he's smart and has a great resume.

Agreed. Trump tactics do not work in Canada (Trumps policies are amazing but the way he got elected will not work here IMO).

I don't see anywhere in my post where I suggested that he should be our PM, and if you watched the video , he states that he lives in Ontario( if true). Your comments are as inaccurate as bad media types. You must have voted for Turdeau.

I don't know what "tactics "you refer to, anyone can say all the rotten things they like about Trump, and slam him up & down with hate and no-one thinks twice, but if he were to do the same first to them , he would be incarcerated. Bunch of hypocrites, it's ok for them to be asses, but Trump's not supposed to defend false accusations? He's way smarter than Turdeau, & far more experienced about what it takes to get things done IMO, honestly or dishonestly, I don't know, but I'd still take him as my PM over Justin, --it's been what 16 months in office and he hasn't done sh---t, oh ya / carbon tax, & claw back health care funding to the provinces.

Kevin has stated that he wants your guns, Kellie Lietch is a gun owner and is in the process of getting her restricted PAL. You sure you want Kevin? I don't.

I like his capitalist views, don't like his take on guns. I am a paid-up CPC member, I have donated to Pierre Lemieux's campaign fund. Maxime Bernier is the chosen one I'm sure of that. Politics is showmanship at best.

He always talks money and doesn't seem to care what people opinions are on his he makes or saves money. Maybe he could be a leader that can fix the FN problem in our country.

Everyone deals with public services in Canada. Being in politics or employed by the government should not necessarily be considered positive or even a pre-requisite.
Ps. Not sold on O'Leary. Heard him talk in person once and was not impressed.

TBH I would love to see Kelly Leitch as PM, her values align with mine the closest. However given our election system, one must practice strategic voting.
Kevin is a liberal, with conservative fiscal values.

Kevin O'Leary continuously refused to invest in companies that did not move their manufacturing to China. Even companies made up of retired military personnel were rejected on Shark Tank.
O'Leary also believes that only the police and military should have guns.
I cant understand why people keep comparing him to Trump. Aside from both being egotistical, they are cut from different cloth.
The greatest thing that could be done for the NA economy and the environment is to move manufacturing out of China and back to NA where it can monitored and regulated. Companies that treat employees like slaves and produce emissions to the extent that citizens can not leave their homes should be tariffed (is that a word?) out of the market place.
O'Leary wont be getting my vote and I would be absolutely shocked if he received majority support in Ontario and Quebec.
