Default Reload room goes BOOM!!!

So... A couple of explosions Sunday afternoon in Red Deer catching a house on fire. First thought was " probably just another meth lab" But was somewhat shocked to find out it was some poor guys reloading room. Not much more I can say on the topic, other than the man minus some hair wasn't seriously hurt. Shout out if your on here that I'm glad your ok. But gets one thinking how safe our own reloading rooms are with safe storage and house keeping.

YIKES!!
Glad the guy was not seriously hurt!
A gunsmith friend left a cigarette in an ash tray several years ago and his garage went up !🙀
I guess it was pretty exciting when the locker full of ammo started cooking off as well as the car full of gasoline!

Having been reloading for over 45 years, and knowing many, many people who load, I have never heard of anyone that I know having a fire related to their reloading. Other than a freak electrical fire, or carelessness with open flames or smoking, a fire or explosion is very unlikely.

Yup, or someone was incredibly stupid.

Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who...................

Even if it was a gas explosion or a dumb cluck cleaning parts with gasoline, the media reports harshly if it is anything close to being gun related.

There is more to this, that’s for sure.

yeah, my gunsmith friend's fire was not caused from powder storage , hand loading or anything like that, it was the cigarette that he left going that started a fire that started the whole wreck!
