Default Selling gold nuggets help

Hey guys just wondering if anyone knows a reputable buyer of raw gold. I don’t have much, just over 28 grams, but prices are high and wouldn’t mind offloading at this time. Figure someone on here might be able to help. Thanks

I looked into it a few years ago, and each time I checked a place out I also checked the scam alert pages. Sketchy as hell most of them. 'send a sample' that you never see again, they tell you the gold you have sent is <10karat even if clearly marked 18 or 24 with accompanying receipt. Beware.

I would love to do the same, I have a few ounces I would like to sell, but someone will try and relieve you of your money.

If someone local offers to buy thats the route I would take.

Hey Sailor.

In all seriousness are you okay these days? Are you hanging out with someone or alone right now. Remember friends can be online and I am sure I speak for everyone that if you are stressed out, seek help or conversation. I get the impression you may be imbibing a fair bit. Moderation my friend...moderation.

Seriously?
Ok I will shut up for a month- nobody listens anyway - just yells louder than others so no reason to talk.
Enjoy

No you can sell a troy ounce... 31 grams a year royalty free. Miners license is 50 bux for 5 years. Doubt if the office is open. If they are nice nuggets sell them separate. If you smelt em down you will certainly lose weight especially yukon nuggets with impurities but it's more sellable to someone buying weight as its pure. I would smelt it personally.

Any suggestions for a particular smelter that would take small volumes?

Try your local jeweler. Many jeweler's do gold castings. I would think some jewelers would pay gold price of the day.

Look up the Alberta gold prospectors association, they would likely be able to tell you what you could do with it especially with nuggets being involved

The link I posted said that as well. And it said that for small amounts a local jeweler would most likely offer the highest price.

I didn't say anything besides posting the link because I know nothing about selling gold. I wasn't even sure the link had good information but it made sense to me, so I posted it.

Default gold

A gold nugget is usually not all "Au' gold. Most have lots of iron, copper etc. Only way to establish final value is melt down with proper flux and pour into mold, then weigh.

Nugget commands a premium over melted ... I would check small jewelry store and see what they can offer , if you are in Edmonton I would offer to smelt it for you .
