Default 20 hp Yamaha Tiller

Anyone have any thoughts on the Yamaha 20 hp short shaft for a utility boat. 2016.

I run a 2015 20hp Yamaha 4 stroke short shaft on my 14' Marlon flat bottom, and it is amazing. Gets on plane easily, with three big guys in it. Tops out dry with only me in it at a little over 30mph. Incredible fuel economy.

Buddy has the 2010 20 hp short shaft Yamaha that he uses on his Zodiac and Zebec boats. Great motor. Quiet, runs on teaspoons of fuel, and reliable. I have a 2006 25 hp long shaft Yamaha on a Lund SSV16 and it's been a great motor too. I was able to pull the kids tubing behind it, and even pulled up my cousin on a wakeboard just to see if it could do it.

No hesitation from me on the Yamaha 4 stroke motors.

I've got a 115 and 9.9 yamahas on my boat and they are great. Quiet and really good on fuel. Pretty hard to go wrong with a Yamaha.

Looks like every motor in the 2017 Redbull Dinghy Derby was a Yamaha. Yamaha isn't an event sponsor either. More for giggles than anything, here's the link.
